I love to spend time with my daughter whenever and wherever, but she begs to differ. She loves it when I don’t have to play Supermama. That’s when I have to go to an audition, do returns from a shoot that I styled and/or personal shop for one of my clients, do research for a story I am writing, go grocery shopping, the list goes on…..Today was different for her, one because she had her homie with her, two because I had to pull her out of the store when usually it is the opposite.

They hold the key to a shopaholic mom’s dream!….It is a Hello Kitty life-size house!
After I handled my business, I went looking for the girls and they were no where to be found. Until I saw that there was a house in the middle of the store! I peaked in and guess who I saw….

Hello Ladies…..whatcha doing?
Needless to say they were quite content in their play land so I just took a lil looksy to see what they had for me….just looking of course.

Well, who could resist Vivienne’s newest shoe colab?! And they smell like strawberries!!!!!! I swear!!
At last I was able to talk the girls out, after bribing them with some fun new HK eraser’s, and all of us were biding a found farewell to Opening Ceremony. Now my daughter is more than happy to come with me wherever…Funny, I wonder why?
kidISM…kids have just as much fun as their trend-setting parents who shop at Opening Ceremony!

They work!
If you are in a rush and need that quick touch up like some of us do sometimes these individual wax strips are perfect! Moujan 2000 is simple and effective. The all natural wax has Rosin, Beeswax, Calendula Oil, and Chamomile Extract. That’s it! It is perfect if you are on the go and need to just do lil touch ups and with its individually wrapped strips it is perfect for travel! And for $7.00 it won’t even feel it. I have tested and approved them to be and do what they advertise. You can find the line at all beauty supplies as well. My spot is Beauty Connection in on Riverside Dr. in the valley!

Ism…all natural never looked so good!

The cheapest, yet still healthy Mexican meal in LA.
In LA we have a billion good Mexican fast food joints. Only a couple I would dare step foot in. Tacos Villa Corona is one of them. This hole in the wall is really a Mexican palace! Located in Atwater Village, you can’t get more authentic than having original owner Mom and her son holding down the fort!

No lie, only 1 person fits at a time, but your food is made to order!
Their burritos are a staple all day breakfast for champions and don’t skip over the vegetarian menu or you will get caught sleeping. The potato tacos and quesadilla are mas mejor than any others I have tasted! Top off your order with their signature salsa roja and you wont ever question what spicy is. Nothing compares to the prices though?! You could feed a family of four, eat like royalty, and still only spend $20.

Aires agrees the quesadillas taste just like Mom’s! Of course I learned from my Dad who learned from his Mom….etc.
foodISM…get your money’s worth and satisfy your cravings for authenticity angelino style.

Anyone that has been to my house knows I LOVE to cook. I don’t know how many of them know that I have a subscription to all the food magazines though. March issue of Bon Appetit covered a piece on the Top 10 Sushi Spots. SEBO, in San Fransisco, made the cut! And rightfully so. I found myself in San Fran the same week I got my newest issue in the mail. So you know I had to get there to see if Bon Appetit knew what they were talking about.

Quaint and understated decor, but the food is nothing but top notch!
There was a line outside the door when I approached it. Once I was inside I realized Sebo only has 7 bar seats! Thank God I got there right when they opened.

Their fish is Only Seasonal and fresh from Japan!
Besides the freshest of fish, the Sake list has made me a new found fan of Sake! One of their “house” Sake is called “Big Devil”. Horns didn’t grow out of my head, but I did see a halo above, co-owner, Michael’s head for having such an impeccable palette for taste. Their menu changes weekly dependent on what fish is available. This is one reason, I am sure ,owners Michael Black and Daniel Dunham have such a huge following. Another reason is because they keep it personal by adding their own personal touch to all their dishes. A seat at the bar is the way to go to get their own prepared dishes.
The chef’s 5 piece selection was devine!
My favorite was the Sea Bream, which is in the bass family and tastes like it was dipped in butter! Oh, and the scallops were BANANAS! Topped with fresh lemon juice and sea salt, they were simplicity at its best! Shout out to all you tuna lovers, their Maguro Maki is the ONE!

This was a special treat that Michael let me take a stab at…..Super! It is all about the cheak.
fishISM…..SEE You at SEBO.

While driving in LA I am sometimes struck by things that make me ask the question,”What the…?” This definitely got me when trying to get to one of my favorite streets in Venice, Abbot Kinney! I didn’t know the city had these sorts of signs?!?…errrumah, come to find out there was a Gold’s Gym across the street. LMAO! I definitely took a full 10 second pause at this stop sign.
Ism?….lookout for beefheads near Abott Kinney!

If you haven’t been to Madeo, then you haven’t experienced LA’s finest and one of the oldest Italian restaurants! If you can’t get dinner reservations, then just hangout at the bar for their amazing olive and cheese plate paired with a fab Chardonnay! If I close my eyes I swear I am in Italy! Everything tastes amazing. Mangare!
Ism..Olive Italian!!…get it?

I am usually one to be defensive about how LA drivers are lacking skill behind the wheel. Below are two fine examples that I can’t defend at all….some people just take it too far!!! I could not believe that these two drivers had their dogs in the drivers seat.

There is a poodle in the leopard print bag!!!!

Notice anything different behind the steering wheel??
driverISM…on the streets of LA you will run into some crazy drivers, but THESE two take the prize for pet crazed!

Jerell Scott and his crazy fab friend strike a pose with me.
Jerell and some of his friends from Project Runway have a store now in LA, JaneDoeJohnDoe. Located on the fab street to shop on 3rd St. at La Cienaga, anyone craving the designs they saw on the show can go there. i have to admit the estetics of the fashion shop are incredibly chic! From the black varnished floors and ceilings to the cracked glass walls it was refreshing for an LA fashion house to have such DRAMA!

I Love the Black ceiling with crown molding!
The Marine’s were there to help collect toys for tots as well.

My friend, Jen Yu and I.
A little to our dismay, the visual signs that apparently not everyone got the memo about bringing a toy…

We brought 2 out of the 5 toys in the boxes….Come on People?! Get involved!
In any case, it was still a great fashion look for a regular LA evening. And on the way out I was completely a gasp over this hoodie! The infamous Venice Beach bikini bod tshirt with a lil bedazzling and chains….

Talk about T&A?!…hilarious!
fashionISM… your imagination is limitless when it comes to fashion, and never takes itself seriously!
